1. MOMA: Tradition Bulgarian food. Nice and relaxing atmosphere, just next to the most crowded pedestrian street in Sofia – boulevard Vitosha. Good service and average prices. Beautiful interior, composed of large rooms and decorated with beautiful paintings of Bulgarian Ladies and terrace. Located on “Sounska” street.

2. Pri Yafata: Traditional restaurant in the Top center of Sofia. Delicious traditional food, as well as wide selection of Mediterranean food (seafood, daily menu of fresh fish, salads and so one). Affordable prices, derails of the interior that remind of traditional Bulgarian style and beautiful terrace. Located on “Dondukov” street.

3. Tavan: Fancy Restaurant with amazing view of Sofia city’s skyline. Located in the neighborhood “Manastirski Livadi” on the 12 th floor of a big office building. High quality service, delicious Mediterranean food and relatively high prices. Good (romantic) place to see even for a drink.

4. Kotiloto: Serbian restaurant. Amazing choice before or after hiking the so called mountain Vitosha. Located in the neighborhood “Dragalevtsi” close to the mountain, that’s the best choice for you if you enjoy eating fresh, tastefully cooked and professionally served meat prepared in Serbian tradition way. Nice interior and breezy back terrace. Average prices and good service.

5. Happy Sushi Marinella: Delicious, fresh sushi served in restaurant’s amazing garden with pond, hammocks and black swans will make your stay unforgettable. Waiters and sushi chefs are dressed in fancy Japanese clothing imparting authenticity of this wonderful place. Located in “Lozenets”, prestigious neighborhood not far from to the center part of Sofia, just next to the Kempinski hotel. Average prices and good service. Important: Do not confuse with the other mixed (Sushi and European food) restaurant “Happy” which is 3 minutes away by foot from the one I just mentioned (the other is also good but its different than the one I describe).

6. The Corner: Amazing bar and diner with beautiful view of Sofia city’s skyline. If you’re looking for romantic place to have a drink(s) while enjoying the nice view that’s the right place to visit. Nice music, thematic piano nights. Affordable prices, good service. Located on boulevard “Cherni Vrah”, neighborhood “Hladilnika”.

7. Raffy: Probably the most local place in the center of Sofia. Located on the square of “Vitosha” and “Sounska” street. The bar is always full so its highly recommended to make a reservation, but in any case the friendly staff will find a place for you if you’re willing to wait a couple of minutes. Good choice for place where you’ll surely enjoy the lively atmosphere of the street of art, that brings together all age, cultural and social categories at one place.

8. Raketa Rakia Bar: Good and delicious food, nice stuff and amazing atmosphere just next to the west park and very close to the downtown. It’s a great place where you’ll enjoy a wonderful dinner, expertly made cocktails and big choice of the famous Bulgarian traditional drink – Rakia. So be careful. 🙂

9. Camino: Piano and whiskey bar Camino is definitely good choice for night bar in Sofia. The bar is owned by the famous Bulgarian singer Lili Ivanova and the name “Camino” comes from her popular eponymous song. You’ll enjoy an entertaining evening thanks to the great entourage of singers and dance atmosphere. Good to know: Its always very crowded so the reservation is required. Location: 70 str Neofit Rilski, on the “little 5 th squares”, relatively close to the downtown. Relatively high prices, average service.

10. PM: One of the most fashionable night clubs in Sofia. If you want to get familiar with the city’s night life that’s the right place to go. PM organizes various thematic parties with the most popular and well known DJs. Reservation is required. Located in 2-4 Gourko street, on the top center, in front of Grand hotel Sofia. Relatively high prices, good service.
